Our Apple Spice Cake mix includes dried apples and warm spices. Delicious on its own, but fresh apples add another flavor profile to this already scrumptious loaf cake. Baking the cake in a Spring Form pan and topping with powdered sugar and whipped cream will make this a very special cake to serve at your next dinner party.

Ingredients

9-inch Springform Pan - Spray the bottom of the pan lightly with baking spray. Lay a piece of parchment paper cut to size on the bottom of the pan and spray again.

4 Tbsp. unsalted butter, room temperature

2 Large Eggs

2/3 cup buttermilk
-
2 Granny Smith Apples - cored, peeled & chopped

1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Powdered Sugar - for topping
-
Softly sweetened whipped cream (optional)

Directions
Preheat Oven to 350 degrees F
In a bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the flat beater, beat the butter until fluffy. Add a small amount (about 1/4 cup) of the cake mix and mix on med-low speed until blended. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.
Add 1 egg, half of the buttermilk and 1/2 of the cake mix and mix on med-low until blended. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.
Add the second egg, the remainder of the cake mix, and the buttermilk. Mix on med-high for about 1-2 minutes. Remove bowl from mixer and fold in the chopped apples and nuts (if using.) Pour batter into prepared pan.
Bake for 35-40 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool for about 10-15 minutes before removed from pan.
Let cool completely. Shake powdered sugar (using a small fine sieve) on top of the cake before cutting and serving. Serve with a dollp of whipped cream if desired. Enjoy!
